Live Capture: Starting a Live Capture

Modified on Tue, 30 Apr 2024 at 02:56 AM

In this article we will discuss how to start a live capture in the Synergy Sports Hockey Editor.

Once you have your devices set up, you are ready to start a live capture. To initiate a live capture from the MAX Editor 9, select either the Create Live Capture Edit button from the top of the Source Edits panel:

Then, name the edit, name the file that will be created, categorize your capture (choose from Other, Practice, Exhibition, and Game), select your video source, and if you wish to push your video to the Synergy Cloud. You also have the option of viewing a preview of your live capture.  Last, click OK to begin.

Initiating a live capture can also be started or resumed by selecting the Start/Stop Capture button located above the timeline in a new or existing Source Edit.

Additionally, you can initiate a Live Capture from the Synergy Source Manager.  This is accomplished with the same steps used currently.

In the Synergy Source Manager application, select Capture and name your event and choose the type using the radio button option in the Media Info section. The Push to Synergy Cloud option is selected by default and will make your film available to everyone on your staff. Deselect it if you do not wish to have the film available to others in your organization. Next, select either Start Capture or Capture and Edit.

  • Start Capture begins the process of capturing your film for use in a custom edit with access via the Media window.
  • Capture and Edit will make the Editor and the Tagging canvas the active window and allow you to start your capture and immediately begin working with your film.  Note: To begin creating clips, a Tagging Template must be created or imported.
