Overview

Sharing and exporting your work is a vital piece of the workflow with the Synergy Editor 11. In this article, we will explore how to export a Custom Edit from the Synergy Editor/Editor Max. In the past, exported edits were limited to the full clip and could not retain any of the extra work you put in to make them unique and relevant. With Editor 11, you can now preserve all of the trims, overlays, and more when exporting your edit.

Getting Started

There are several ways to export an edit. Right-click on an edit from your Custom Edit list or Timelines and select Export from the menu, or click the carrot icon to the right of an open edit tab and select the Export option.

Once selected, the Export pop-up window opens. This window allows you to:

  • Set the Location of where you'd like to download the edit
  • Name the edit
  • Export it as Audio/Video Only (selecting this option bring up several more options)
    • Media:
      • Full Edit, which exports the entire edit
      • Selection Only, which exports only the clips selected within the edit
    • Extras:
      • Express, a speedier option with less precise trimming, no text overlay, and no clip combining
      • Precision Trim, includes exact trimming of clips within the edit
        • Include Text Overlay
        • Combine clips into single video file, this feature is exclusive to Editor Max users
  • Export it as a Copy of Edit, this option creates a local file that may be shared with other devices, meant to assist with offline workflows. The full event video is stored along with this file and may take longer to transfer between devices.

Choose where to send your edit by clicking the Change button and selecting a folder on your computer. Use the radio buttons next to the other options to make further export selections.

Once you've made your selections, click OK to begin the process of downloading the edit. Once the download starts, a window will appear that shows the conversion progress.

Depending on the selection you made before exporting, you will have several files available for sharing or use outside of the Editor. If you are an Editor Max user and you export the single video file option, you will see a single .mp4.

Exporting and sharing your work offline is a vital part of your workflow. With the ability to preserve trims and overlay along with ease of use, exporting and sharing edits, Editor 11 offers a more comprehensive experience than ever before.
