MAX: Importing Video

Modified on Fri, 11 Oct at 8:34 PM

Overview

The Synergy Editor Max allows you to import your own previously recorded video directly into the Synergy Editor using the Source Manager integration. This convenient and essential feature allows you to breakdown footage of practices, exhibition games, and more while keeping your workflow streamlined and efficient.

Getting Started

To begin, click the Import Video icon, located at the top-right of the Editor, or click the + icon in the bottom right of any open panel, and select Import Video from the menu.

The Import Video window will pop-up, allowing you to set up the parameters of your import. Start by browsing for the file(s) by clicking the three dots to the right of the File text box. Select the file(s) you'd like to import. Once selected, you can preview the files prior to import by selecting the file from the dropdown above the preview window, and clicking the play button. This helps ensure you have selected the correct video file(s) to be imported.

Once you've ensured the correct video files have been selected, you can set the Date of the event, set the Event Type, and title the video you're uploading by using the Edit Name text box.

Click the Create Edit checkbox if you would like the Editor to create a new Custom Edit of the import automatically.

You have a couple of options to choose from as to how the video files will be imported:

  • Express - This option enables immediate full access to your video. The video may later be pushed to the Synergy Cloud from the Videos tab to enable sharing with other users.
  • Push to Synergy Cloud - This option will push your video to the Synergy Cloud, making it available to all users on your team's account.
  • Include Audio - Choose whether or not to include the audio with your imported file(s).

When all of your selections have been made, click the OK button to begin the import process. If the Create Edit checkbox was selected, the video will appear automatically in a timeline in the lower panel of the Editor. If the checkbox was not selected, the file(s) will be available in the Videos tab at the top of the application.

NOTE: A line will appear above the timeline of your import. A green line indicates the video is only available locally. A blue line indicates it has been pushed to the Synergy Cloud. Details of the asset are listed under the Videos Tab, and local files can be pushed to the cloud from here.
