Tags are used to pin, analyze, categorize and filter your matches and training.
Tags are always associated with a video sequence. During a recording, the video sequences can be:
- Automatically created from the 24-second chrono game phases.
- Automatically created if you add a tag that can not be associated with a 24-second stopwatch game phase.
- Example: training with 24-second stopwatch off.
- Manually created using custom sequences.
In fact, you can notice that tags and sequences are closely related.
It is important to understand the different terminologies about tags: automatic / manual, early / late ("before / after"). These are presented to you below.
Automatic tags vs. Manual Tags
Automatic tags
During an event, Keemotion automatically recognizes a series of actions that occur throughout the production. As soon as this is the case, tags are automatically created and assigned to certain video sequences. You can then find these tags in the "Decomposition of the recording into playing sequences" screen.
Automatic tags look like this:
- Score +1
- Score +2
- Score +3
- Fouls (faults)
These tags also inform which team (home/away) they refer to.
Here is an example of how tags are displayed in the "Breaking up recording into play sequences" screen:
Manual Tags
You can also add your own tags to any recording. There are three ways to do this, each explained in a dedicated article:
From the Tagging tab:
When? On site, next to the field.
You are in the arena and you want to tag an action that you observe directly on the ground.
From the "Recording viewing" screen:
When? It is possible from a few minutes after an action has taken place.
You are viewing the entire recording from the "Recording View" screen.
From the "Breaking down the recording into playing sequences" screen (or from a playlist):
When? It is possible from a few minutes after an action has taken place. You analyze the recording from the "Breaking down the recording into play sequences" screen or from the Playlists tab.
Early Tag vs. Late Tag
Before going further, it is important to know that the "Early Tags" and "Late Tags" are applicable only when tags are created when the timer of 24 seconds will not count.
If a tag is created when the 24-second stopwatch is counting down, it will automatically be assigned to a video sequence itself, which is associated with the stopwatch phase.
When you create a tag, when the 24 seconds stopwatch does not count down, this tag will be linked to a video sequence automatically created for the occasion. These sequences are created against two types of parameters that you can configure:
- The length of the sequence, a general parameter that applies to all tags.
The parameter is configurable from the Settings tab of the application.
- Each tag button must be defined as an "Early" or "Late" tag.
To do this, just select one of the following buttons when setting up the tags for your tagging grid.
Late Tag (Left button)
"Late tag" is the default configuration for each tag. This is the most common configuration.
This type of tag is used when you want to name the action at the end, or shortly after the related action has taken place (eg: a fault). This tag will then automatically create a sequence which begins 30 seconds before the tag is created and ends 5 seconds after the tag (The parameters can be adapted to your needs).
Early Tag (Right button)
This type of tag is used when you want to name the action at the start, or shortly before the relative action takes place (for example, a phase known in advance). This tag will then automatically create a sequence which begins 5 seconds before the tag is created and ends 30 seconds after the tag (The parameters can be adapted to your needs).
