In this article, we will discuss the Quality Selector and Comments page within Video Express for Softball.
Rip Video
Selecting the gear icon in the upper right of the Video Express Quality Selector/Comments page will open the Rip Directory Settings. By default, the Rip Directory is turned off. If switched on, you will be able to make a selection to redirect the Rip Video location for your upload.
During the upload process, Video Express makes a temporary duplicate file of those selected for upload. It is imperative that the computer or selected storage location has enough space to accommodate both the original file and its duplicate (for example, if you are uploading a 3GB file, you need a minimum of 6GB available to make the upload). Without enough space, the upload will fail.
Typically, Video Express will write these files to the default location located locally in your computer's Documents folder (Typically located in: /User/Username/Documents/VideoExpress/Upload, or similar location depending on the platform), however, using the page settings shown above, you are able to redirect the Rip file to another location that may provide more sufficient storage space if necessary.
Setting options available are:
- ... : Used to browse to the location you would like to select the Rip file to relocate to
- Reset: Used to reset the Rip file location to the application default
- OK: used to proceed with the current selection
- Cancel: Cancels the selection process and leaves current settings in place
Once the upload is complete, the temporary Rip file is removed from the Uploads folder and the storage space it used is recovered.
Comments Section
You are encouraged to use the Comments section to communicate any important details about uploaded files. For instance, if you plan to upload additional camera angles, missing video, or higher-quality videos at a later time.
