The Shared Game workflow gives you the ability to easily share your logged games and practices with other Synergy Team Logger users outside of your organization.
Synergy recommends, that you complete all event logging, and importing of video, before beginning the Share process, as any changes made after the fact will not be represented in the Shared game without re-sharing the updated game.
Sharing a Game
In order to share a game or practice, it must have logged events, with video attached. In the Game view, select the game you would like to share, and click the Share to Synergy Cloud arrow in the Shared column.
Note: The arrow will appear grey in the Share column if both requirements are not met. Once your logged events have video uploaded, the arrow will turn Black, and the game can be shared.
The Share panel will open with four fields. In the middle field named Share With, is a list of available leagues and teams that you can select to share your game with. You can either select an entire league, single team, or create a custom group of teams to share with.
You can use the Triangle button to the left of each league to expand your list to reveal conferences, divisions, and teams.
You can also use the search bar in the upper right to find the team you wish to share with.
In the upper left of the window is a list of your Groups. These groups can be created and customized for easy selection in future uses.
To create a New Group, select the desired recipients from the list of teams. Your selections will be listed in the bottom right panel. The selections list can be sorted by Leagues, Conferences, Divisions, and Teams, by using the associated tabs.
Once your selections have been made, name your group in the upper right field, and click the + icon next to it. Existing groups can be edited by clicking the pencil icon, or deleted by clicking the X.
The field in the upper right lists the available camera angles. You can choose to select which angles to share, or select All Camera Angles.
Once all of your selections have been made, click Apply at the bottom of the screen.
You will be returned to the Games page, and a Green Checkmark will be displayed in the Share column to reflect that the game has been shared.
Retrieving a Shared Game
To retrieve a game that has been shared with you, click the Shared view at the top of the page. This will pull up a list of all Games, and Practices that have been shared with your team.
In order to view shared games, you must copy the game to your database. In the Shared column, there will be a black Copy Icon displayed, indicating the game has yet to be copied.
Click the Copy icon, then click Yes to copy the game. Once copied, the icon in the Share column will change to Green, indicating that the game has been successfully copied.
Now that the game has been copied, it will be listed on the Games page for future use. Copies will be identified by the green copy icon in the Shared column. Additionally, while hovering over the copy icon, the sender of the shared game will be displayed.
This copy is now yours, and independent from the original file. You can make changes and additions as you see fit, and they will not be reflected on the original users game file.
NOTE: Receiving users are not able to share games that have been shared with them with third parties. Only the original creators of the game are able to share with other users.
Viewing Shared Games
Select the game, and click the Log Tab at the top of the page to view all of the logged events for the game just as you normally would with a game you created.
Shared games are also viewable in the Synergy Baseball Client App. Simply switch your data source to My Team (All), and all shared, and created games and practices from the Team Logger, will be displayed.
If the sender of the game, deletes their original game file, the copy you have created will still be viewable as long as you've made your copy before the original is removed.
You may add additional data or camera angles to a game that has been shared, but in order for the camera angles to be viewable by the recipient, you must repeat the share process, and select all camera angles you would like to share.
If additional events or camera angles are added to the game, after your copy has been made, in order to view them you must delete your first copy of the game, then copy the new version to your database.
